Why to build an ethical approach? How to live it?
Raymond Richard Neutra (Los Angeles, 1939), Doctor in epidemiology, has taught at UCLA and Harvard, is a researcher at numerous centers in North and South America and is Director of the renowned Division of Environmental and Occupational Disease Control (DEODC) in the California Department of Public Health (CDPH).

He currently combines his medical dedication with the promotion of education and architecture. He is a trustee of the prestigious Besant Hill School in Ojai, California, and of the VDL Research House in Los Angeles.

The conference will explore the significance, the relevance, and the survival of the architecture office and the residence built by his father, Richard J. Neutra and his brother, Dion. It will be serving as the inaugural lecture of the MPAA seminar “Activación y proyecto. Los Ángeles 10 paradigmas” given by Juan Coll-Barreu. All students and teachers from the ETSAM are invited to share the vitality of one of the residential manifestos of the twentieth century, which created a brilliant and personal vision of architecture, nature and life.

Raymond Richard Neutra (Los Ángeles, 1939) es doctor en epidemiología, ha sido profesor en UCLA y en Harvard, investigador en numerosos centros de América del Norte y del Sur y director de la decisiva Division of Environmental and Occupational Disease Control (DEODC) en el California Department of Public Health (CDPH).

Actualmente compagina su dedicación médica con la promoción de la educación y la arquitectura. Es patrono de la prestigiosa Besant Hill School de Ojai, California, y de VDL Research House en Los Ángeles.

La conferencia explorará el significado, la actualidad y la supervivencia del estudio y residencia construidos por su padre, Richard J. Neutra y su hermano, Dion. Concebida como lección inaugural del seminario del MPAA "Activación y proyecto. Los Ángeles 10 paradigmas” que imparte Juan Coll-Barreu, la charla se abre a todos los estudiantes y profesores de la escuela puesto que posee la intensidad de la vida en uno de los manifiestos domésticos del siglo XX, el cual construyó una visión personal y genial sobre la arquitectura, la naturaleza y la vida.
